Jackie Robinson 1956 Signed Handwritten Autographed Letter Beckett BAS LOA
One-page handwritten letter signed by Jackie Robinson. In his undated letter, scripted in blue ink on his personal letterhead, Robinson replies to a "Mr. Beirne" and offers his regrets that he cannot attended a local sports dinner. In part: "I am very sorry I will not be in the city to attend the sports dinner. I am leaving for spring training before and I am sure you understand." Signed "Jackie Robinson.". Although the letter is undated, it is accompanied by the original mailing envelope filled out by Robinson and postmarked "Feb 1 1956." The 1956 season marked Robinson's final year in Major League Baseball. The letter (7 x 10.25 inches) displays one vertical and two horizontal mailing folds, as well as a few light creases. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. The envelope (7.5 x 4 inches) displays a vertical fold and light creasing (Vg).
